At the end of last year's policy meeting in December 2023, the Fed left the interest rates unchanged for the third time in a row and signaled it would cut interest rates three times in 2024. The yield on the 10-year treasury yield started the year at 3.88% but quickly moved to as high as 4.34% in February 2024 before falling to 4.20% in March 2024.
